Mercosur members, which include Argentina, Brazil, Chile and Uruguay are expected to propose an increase in the tariff’s on certain goods including leather.
While Uruguay is against the proposals, as they sell raw hides and not finished leather. Brazil and Argentina having the worlds largest leather processing industries.
The indications are a tariff hike in the region of 5% on all goods imported, in textiles leather and footwear
