PORK EXPORTS DOWN.
The main pork processors in Brazil, are going to cut down production for the month of January by 20%, this is always a poor month after Xmas and some of the plants are putting staff on holiday for the next month.
The main poultry processors made a similar announcement two weeks ago, for the very same reasons. There is very little movement in the export trade and January being the hottest month of the year is a holiday favorite.
Sadia have announced the move who are the nations largest poultry processors. Likewise Perdigao the largest pork processor in Brazil. The plants are carrying large stocks of pork and poultry, also there were problems in the main ports of Brazil, after the severe flooding 3 weeks ago, leaving many containers stranded in port on refrigeration.
