BRAZIL – POULTRY SALES BOOST TO THE MIDDLE EAST.
Broiler export volume increased 11 per cent in 2008 compared to the previous year.
In December 2008, broiler exports from Brazil reached 266,598 tons, a 13.42 per cent increase compared to November, according to ABEF, the Brazilian Poultry Exporters Association.
This brought 2008 exports to a new record of 3.645 million tonnes with a value of US$6.9 billion. Compared to 2007, these igures shows an 11 per cent increase in volume and a 5 per cent higher dollar value.
