SUGAR PRODUCTIN DOWN 15 %.
Brazil the worlds largest producer of sugar cane, expects the harvest for 2009, to be reduced by 15pc, owing to the lack of rainfall in the planting regions of the country.
From the harvest 60pc of the sugar goes for production of alternative fuels, such as ethanol, whilst 30 pc is exported for food and 10 pc consumed on the home market.
