Brecon and Radnor farmers to meet prospective MPs

Brecon and Radnor NFU Cymru County is to host a hustings meeting for local prospective MPs from Wales’ main political parties ahead of the general election.

Open to all farmers in Brecon and Radnor, the meeting will be held at the NFU Cymru headquarters, Builth Wells, at 5.00pm, on Tuesday, 27 April 2010. The event will give farmers in Brecon and Radnor County an opportunity to quiz the prospective MPs on their party’s agricultural and rural policies.

Brecon and Radnor NFU Cymru County Chairman, Gwyn Price said, "Whilst the majority of farming issues are now determined by devolved Government there are still some important aspects determined by Westminster. With a general election due and the possibility that we could be facing a very different political landscape, the prospective candidates now have the opportunity to set out their stall and justify why they are the best candidate for Brecon and Radnor."

Gwyn Price ended, "I hope to see a good turnout of farmers at this meeting, please encourage you friends and neighbours to come along."
