British Cheese Awards for Milk Link

The quality of Milk Link’s range of cheeses has been recognized at this year’s British Cheese Awards, with its creameries winning a total of thirteen prizes.

The UK’s largest cheese manufacturer was particularly recognised for its speciality cheeses, winning three out of its four gold prizes in those categories. Reece’s Creamery, based in Cheshire, was awarded gold for its Cheshire cheese while its Trevarrian Creamery was given gold awards for its Cornish Character Brie and its Cornish Camembert. Reece’s and Trevarrian also gained silver prizes for their new Red Cheshire cheese and St Anthony’s goat’s cheese respectively.

The fourth gold prize went to Lockerbie Creamery, based in Dumfriesshire, Scotland, for its mild Cheddar. Meanwhile, Devon-based Taw Valley Creamery also saw success, scooping two silver awards for its mild Cheddar and reduced fat cheese.

Milk Link Chief Executive Neil Kennedy was delighted with the results. He said: "We’re proud to have represented the best of British cheese-making at this year’s British Cheese Awards. I am especially pleased that our speciality cheese creameries have been recognised for the excellence of their cheeses. I would like to congratulate our exceptionally talented and dedicated cheese-makers on their much-deserved success."
