British food showcased for EU agriculture ministers

A NFU 'market stall' will be on display at an exhibition of British Food that will be put on for EU Environment and Agriculture Ministers this Saturday (10 September).

The Ministers are in London for informal meetings hosted by Defra.

The NFU's exhibit has been created by award-winning designer, Penny Riley, and will showcase the very best of British seasonal fruit and vegetables.

NFU Horticulture Chairman, Richard Hirst, said, "The market stall will be used to show a diverse range of produce, including new and old varieties of fruit and vegetables such as sweet corn and Kentish cobnuts. Seasons are now longer in Britain, which means produce such as peppers, tomatoes, carrots and hops can also be showcased."
