Budget Cuts For Councils Fighting F&M

It is being claimed that local councils will have to cut their budgets for fighting foot and mouth and bluetongue because of a mistake at the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.

Animal health officers could lose their jobs.

According to the Local Authorites Co-ordinators of Regulatory Services (Lacors), animal health teams face a cut of 12% because there is more than £1m less available than they were promised.
