CANADA-MEAT BOSS RESIGNS.
The president of the Maritimes’ only federally inspected beef plant has resigned just four months after taking on the job.
In November, John Thompson told CBC News he was excited about taking on the challenge of leading Atlantic Beef Products in Albany , P.E.I., which has been plagued with operating deficits since it opened in 2004.
Thompson is going back to his former job as executive director of the economic development organization Enterprise Greater Moncton.
Earlier this month CBC News learned that an expected federal grant to help the plant toward profitability had been converted into a loan.
