Case launch Farmall C series tractor at SIMA

The Farmall name is deeply rooted in CASE IH history. Reliability and versatility were hallmarks of the first Farmall tractors, which helped them quickly become a worldwide success after their launch in 1922. At SIMA 2011, CASE IH presents a new chapter in that same tradition, with the new Farmall C series.

The Farmall C range has been developed from the ground up to create the ideal machine for farm yard work, such as front loader tasks oruse around livestock buildings. Its compact design means the new Farmall C is also well-suited to specialist farming applications such as working in vegetable cultivation and speciality crops. It sets new standards for all-round visibility, particularly to the most important working areas.

Strong new contender in the under 80HP class

The new Farmall C range complements the current QUANTUM C series in the 55-75HP bracket.. There are three models, with power outputs of 55hp (41kW), 65hp (48kW) and 75hp (55kW).

Powerful drivetrains

The Farmall C series is powered by a 3.2 litre 4-cylinder engine from FPT - Fiat Powertrain Technologies-which fulfils Tier 3 emissions legislation standards.

The new tractors blend compact design and powerful enginesto create a favourable ratio between power output and total weight, resulting in a tractor that is powerful yet agile.

Thanks to the short wheelbase concept, the turning radius is a mere 3.75 metres. Standard transmission is a 12x12 synchromesh, with the number of speeds rising to 20x20 when the optional creepspeeds are specified. Both options can be fitted with either mechanical or power shuttle. Maximum travel speed is 40 km/hr, while the optional creeper allows speeds as low as 123 metres per hour.

New design with ultimate cab convenience

From the outside, the new Farmall’s design is characterised by a modern sloping bonnet, and a completely new ’convenience’ cab, which sets new standards in visibility to the most important working areas.

During the development of the Farmall C series, Case IH engineers focused on driver comfort and ergonomics. The tractors are equipped with a brand new cab featuring a completely flat floor. The innovative design of the integralopening high-visibility roof means any front loader attachment can be seen easily at full height.

The Farmall C cab is based on the operating concepts of larger CASE IH tractors, and all the main displays are ergonomically integrated into the dashboard.

For the first time, a loader joystick can be integrated into the right hand operating console, permitting convenient and sensitive control of the frontloader.

Lower overall height thanks to new design concept

While air-conditioning units on smaller tractors are commonly sited in the roof, on the Farmall C, Case IH engineers have instead integrated it into the cabin. This gives the tractors an overall height as low as 2.37 metres- the lowest in this power bracket for a machine with a flat-floor cab – making the Farmall C ideal for use in situations where headroom is low, such as livestock buildings.

As part of the new cabin design concept, emphasis was placed on modern sound insulation, and when compared with previous models, noise levels have been significantly reduced..

Extensively equipped for comfort

As standard, the Farmall C comes equipped with a radio with integrated iPod dock. The wide comfort seat, with 15 degree pivot function, ensures a pleasant working position. Cab options include a high quality passenger seat.

Economical operation

The new Farmall C will win significant bonus points for its economy. As well as very frugal engines, the tractors are also distinguished by very low maintenance costs, helped by service intervals of 600 hours. The tractors’ oil consumption per 1000 hours is 54 per cent lower than that of comparable competitors.

The tractors’ rear linkage has a lifting power of 2,150kg, and up to three (at the back) and two(mid-mounted) hydraulic remotes can be specified.

The new Farmall C series can be ordered from the second quarter of 2011.
