Cattle disease reaches New Caledonia after AQIS bungle

An error made by the Australian Quarantine Inspection Service (AQIS) has allowed Australian cattle to spread a disease to New Caledonia.

The Agriculture Minister has told Federal Parliament that in November last year cattle were vaccinated against the Babisiosis disease instead of given a chemical treatment.
