Cattle Grazing Displays Behavior Trends

It has been known for a long time that cattle in farmer fields often face the same direction, every day when they feed.

But scientists are finding there may be a specific reason for this behavior.

Scientists have discovered that the direction that cattle herds face is often along a North-South axis of direction. They are theorizing that the magnetic field of the Earth may play a factor in this.

Other theories are that the position of the sun, or the prevailing wind in an area may affect which direction that cattle choose to face when they graze.
