Central American farmers demand Govt financing against high food prices

Farmers of Central American countries on Tuesday demanded government financing to counteract the effects of high food prices, the Central American Federation of Chambers of Farming and Agroindustries (Fecagro) said in a communique.

It is important that the governments adopt all possible measures to promote farming and agroindustrial production, including providing financing for farmers, rationalizing tax rates for agricultural products and providing seeds and raw materials for farming production, said the communique.
