CLA President to Host Peak District National Park Members on Estate Visits
Country Land & Business Association (CLA) President, David Fursdon will be escorting Peak District National Park Authority Members across two Peak Park estates this Friday (18/10) in order to raise awareness of current issues and challenges facing farmers and landowners within the National Park.
David Fursdon and PDNP members will be joined by a number of CLA Derbyshire Committee members including Sir Richard FitzHerbert of Tissington Hall, Roger Wardle, CLA Derbyshire Chairman and CLA Derbyshire Vice Chairman, Chris Trafford.
As the Peak Park faces a crucial time in its development the CLA is keen to illustrate the projects currently undertaken by landowners and what is needed to achieve economic sustainability within Derbyshire's national park.
"We are pleased that PDNP members are willing to see at first hand the challenges facing landowners and businesses within the area. If the Peak Park is going to develop and not stagnate it is vital that new businesses, housing and employment opportunities are able to grow. We want to see a prosperous and working national park, not a fossilised relic", said David Fursdon.
