Comments invited on new English woodland grant scheme
The Forestry Commission and the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs (Defra) are inviting comments on revised woodland grants for England, in a consultation document published today. The new grants will replace the Woodland Grant Scheme and the Farm Woodland Premium Scheme, and are expected to be introduced in Spring 2005.
The consultation document will be available from tomorrow (Thursday 23 October) on the Forestry Commission website on http://www.forestry.gov.uk/ewgs
Enquiries about the consultation should be addressed to Paul Johnston, Forestry Commission, Great Eastern House, Tenison Road, Cambridge CB1 2DU or on tel: 01223 314546, or e-mail paul.johnston@forestry.gsi.gov.uk.
Responses are requested, if at all possible, by 31 December 2003, but with a final deadline of 14 January, 2004.
