For a second consecutive year, Dacre, Son & Hartley, one of Yorkshire's leading estate agents, has announced its sponsorship of a main ring event at the Great Yorkshire Show, to be held at the Great Yorkshire Showground, Harrogate, from Tuesday 12 -Thursday 14 July 2005.

Dacres will be supporting the Beverley Polo Club's exhilarating displays, set to be one of this year's highlight events. Polo, described as 'rugby on horseback', has a reputation for being fast, exciting and extremely competitive and will bring considerable skills and horsemanship to the main show arena.

Dacres' decision to support the region's landmark countryside event for a second year is a reflection of its close links with the agricultural community. Martin Thompson, Chairman of Dacre, Son & Hartley, comments: "Dacre's early reputation, when it was operating as Dacre & Son in the nineteenth century, was built on that of outstanding agricultural auctioneers. Although we soon expanded into estate management, residential and commercial property sales, we have retained strong links with the Yorkshire agricultural community through our renowned rural management division based in Otley.

The Beverley Polo Club was established in 2002 with the intention of promoting Polo in Yorkshire, a region with which the game is not immediately associated - and making it more accessible for all. New members, including complete beginners, are very welcome, but it is the Club's experienced representatives who will be taking part in the display to demonstrate the fierce and thrilling dynamics of this prestigious sport.

Organised by the Yorkshire Agricultural Society, this year's show will be the 147th and is expected to pull in huge crowds following last year's successful event which attracted 124,502 visitors - one of the highest

audience attendances in the Show's history.

Attractions at the Show will include displays from the Royal Artillery Motorcycle Display team; foot combat demonstrations from the Royal Armouries set against a medieval castle backdrop; the Great Yorkshire Cheese and Dairy Show with specialist cookery

theatre; top class show jumping and a dedicated forestry area. Also on the 240 acre site visitors will find the prime of the region's horses, cattle, sheep, goats, poultry and pigs; the best of the region's food and drink with cookery demonstrations; a flower show, fashion shows and much, much more.
