DENMARK -REPLACING JOBS FOR REDUNDANT MEAT WORKERS.
Six out of seven employees at the companies Danish Crown closed in 2008, have found work or entered education or have retired or taken early retirement.
Four plants were closed down last year in Disk, Hurup, Vojens and Nykøbing Mors, while one department in Holstebro was closed.
A total of 1,424 employees - slaughterhouse workers, skilled workers and officials - was affected.
Today, less than one year after the closures, all the have found something else to do, even though unemployment is rising in Denmark, the company said.
In all 1,212 have moved on and this corresponds to 85.1 per cent - or six out seven.
A total of 34 per cent of those who lost their jobs last eyar have found other places within Danish Crown. The majority have found work in other companies.
