Interfarm UK Ltd is launching a new wheat fungicide, DOE1762. Combining the well known active ingredients cyproconazole and quinoxyfen, DOE1762 is a contact and systemic acting fungicide offering excellent control of a wide range of foliar diseases.
“DOE1762 combines the reasonably fast moving triazole, cyproconazole with the highly systemic quinoline fungicide, quinoxyfen. Cyproconazole brings very good curative activity on brown and yellow rusts and good activity against Septoria, whilst the quinoxyfen adds in excellent mildew control. Cyproconazole also has some eyespot activity, so DOE1762 covers the full range of wheat diseases,” explains Dr. David Stormonth, Technical Manager, Interfarm (UK) Ltd.
“The main slot for DOE1762 will be at T1 timing before mildew gets a hold. It can be used at its full rate of 1 litre/hectare which delivers a full triazole unit plus half rate quinoxyfen or at three-quarter rate delivering three-quarter rate triazole and one-third quinoxyfen. It could be bolstered by the addition of multi-sited Quell Flo (mancozeb), Guru (mancozeb and chlorothalonil) or chlorothalonil straight. It will also be a useful T2 mixer combination, especially if mildew is a risk and an anti-resistance stance is required,” points out Dr. Stormonth.
DOE1762 contains 80 g/litre cyproconazole and 75 g/litre quinoxyfen formulated as a suspension concentrate. It is approved for use in all varieties of winter wheat (with the exception of durum wheat) and is recommended at a dose rate of 1 litre /ha, with a maximum total dose of 2 litres per hectare. It is applied in the spring up to Growth Stage 49 before ear emergence.
