A Dorset sheep farmer has been granted a restraining order after a vegan activist harassed him for eight months.
The landmark case follows months of death threats and abuse targeted at Wimborne Minster farmer John Wood.
It started last year when the 47-year-old created a Facebook page called the Meat & Greet British Farming.
The aim of the page was to âeducate the public in farming practicesâ.
The page, however, eventually drew the attention of vegan activists, including 37-year-old Emma Christoforakis, who branded the farmer a 'murderer'.
The self-described 'militant vegan' was said to have visited Mr Wood's farm.
Speaking to The Daily Telegraph, he said it's 'not been an easy 18 months'.
âWhen you have counter terror police warning you what could happen and what has happened in the past, itâs scary. In 2019, it should not be happening.
âWhen youâre looking under your tractors in the morning for bombs, nobody should be living like that.
âI donât say to anybody, âIf you donât eat meat, youâre scumâ. If I did that Iâd be branded a lunatic â these people go out regularly and do the opposite, itâs not acceptable,â Mr Wood said.
The Poole Magistratesâ Court handed a two-year restraining order to Ms Christoforakis, a mother-of-three, late last month.
She was also given an 18-month conditional discharge, a ÂŁ400 compensation charge to the victim and ÂŁ620 court costs.
