Droitwich accountant scoops top farming award

A Droitwich-based firm of accountants is celebrating the success of one of its consultants who was recently crowned ’Overall Champion’ in a prestigious local farming competition.

Douglas Dale, founding member of Ballard Dale Syree Watson LLP chartered accountants and himself a farmer was delighted to see his farm awarded the prize for best managed farm in a competition judged by Staffordshire & Birmingham Agricultural Society.

The farm is situated on the Bagots Park Estate in Abbots Bromley and faced stiff competition from a number of fellow county rivals to win the Philip Solari Esquire Challenge Cup, sponsored by Barclays Bank.

Mr Dale recently retired from the partnership at Ballard Dale Syree Watson and is now a consultant for the practice, continuing to provide financial advice to a number of agricultural clients. Fellow founding member and accountant, Bill Ballard is also an active farmer. The combination of years of accounting experience and hands-on farming ensures the firm really understands the challenges facing the farming community and is able to deliver the most accurate and relevant advice possible.

The firm has provided financial advice and support to a large number of agricultural and farming businesses across Worcestershire and the West Midlands for the past 20 years and prides itself on having a loyal and valued client base.

Mr Dale said:"I am extremely proud to see Bagots Park Estate given such an accolade and it is testament to the hard work and commitment shown by my valued colleagues on the farm. I look forward to my semi-retirement as I will continue to advise a number of farming businesses as well as my work as Financial Director for the Three Choirs Festival."

The award will be presented to Mr Dale at the Annual County Dinner at the County Showground, Stafford on Tuesday 1st November.
