THE JURY STILL OUT ON CLONED MEAT.
Japan have given the green light on the sale of cloned meat, however it seems that this will not happen in Europe.
Despite many reports from Canada and the USA, claiming that meat and dairy produce from cloned meat is ok, the EU see things differently.
The European Food Safety Authority, would not give the milk and meat from cloned animals, a clean bill of health.
The EU findings contrast with those of the US Food and Drug Administration, that concluded that, cloned meat products were safe.
The European approach is similar to the approach they adopted of GM food.
While the press last week was full of stories, saying cloned meat was safe, there will not be cloned product for sale in Europe any time soon, it would appear.
