NEW ABATTOIR RULES.

All abattoirs in the EU now have to adhere to stricter rules, in relation to the handling of animals.

The laws have not been amended since 1993, the stunning of animals is on top of the list of changes, ensuing that animals do not regain consciousness, after being initially stunned and entering the kill line.

Live shackling of poultry, is also under review for change, along with new laws in relation to fish farming.
