Farm Stay UK members raise thousands of pounds for charity
It may only be April, but already this year members of Farm Stay UK, the biggest farm accommodation organisation in the UK, have organised and supported charity events throughout the country and have raised a whopping £11,500 for national charities and projects in their area.
Andy Woodward, Chief Executive of Farm Stay UK comments: "Each year we encourage our members to get involved with and organise national and individual events as it is a great way of getting to know the local community.
With so many delicious breakfast ingredients available straight from the member’s farms, breakfast seems to be a perfect way to raise money for these charities and nearly 1,000 delicious home-made breakfasts have been sold already this year. Visitors to any of the Farm Stay UK breakfast events will certainly get one of the best, local, and freshly cooked breakfasts available anywhere in the UK."
From delicious breakfasts served at farmhouse tables and free range bacon and sausage baps sold at village stalls, to raffles and competitions, Farm Stay UK members have pulled out all the stops to do their bit for their local community, and have many more events planned for the rest of the year.
The money raised at the events has been donated to a range of national and local projects including Help for Heroes, Haiti, local church funds, Children’s Hospice South West and the Rotary amongst others.
