Farmers hypocritical for sending cattle east
A beef processor has labelled a group of producers who are sending their cattle east as hypocrites.
Beef farmers in the south-west are trucking their cattle across the Nullarbor in search of a bigger profit, despite transport costs of up to $300 a head.
Rod Russell is the managing director of the Western Meatpacker Group and doubts producers are getting the high profit by selling interstate.
