Film boost to equestrian tourism initiative

A pioneering project aimed at the promotion and support of equestrian and tourism businesses in the Welland area has been launched.

Ride Welland was set up with the vision of promoting the Welland area as a destination of choice for equestrian tourism. Welland incorporates Melton Mowbray and Market Harborough in Leicestershire, Rutland, South Kesteven in Lincolnshire and East Northants.

As well as setting up off-road riding routes and producing a promotional DVD, produced by Media Dog Ltd and narrated by Tim Barnes-Clay, the project has constructed a bespoke website aimed at benefiting both riders and businesses.

Media Dog’s Managing Director, Rob Shaw said: "As former ITV staff, Tim and the team worked hard to produce a film to capture the imagination of would-be toursists to the area. We think we’ve achieved that."
