Five-year fix for McCormick CX finance
Fixing the cost of farm inputs over a significant period of time is all but impossible when oil and fertiliser markets are volatile. But one exception is provided by the latest package of special finance deals available for a limited period from McCormick tractor distributor AgriArgo UK.
"We’re always looking at different options to suit farmers facing particular circumstances and can usually tailor finance accordingly," says Ray Spinks, sales director. "Just now, we felt that cost stability is an important factor – so that’s what we’re providing a long-term package for the McCormick CX."
Since the CX is a popular loader tractor, AgriArgo and its partner ARGO Finance concluded that livestock farmers in particular would welcome the opportunity to spread payments for both machines over a longer than usual period.
They came up with a five-year zero interest scheme for up to 45% of the retail price that also includes two years’ additional warranty. Buyers pay the equivalent of £80 per week for a tractor, and £91 per week with a loader, spread over five years.
"These finance schemes have been developed to bring certainty during a fairly volatile period for the financial markets," says Paul Bundock, European sales director at ARGO Finance. "In times when farm costs are generally rising, farmers can use these schemes to spread the cost of purchasing equipment for longer periods without even having to worry about interest charges."
The 5+55 month scheme applies to the McCormick CX110 XtraShift, the top-spec model in the CX range, which features a 102hp Perkins engine. Its three-speed powershift / power shuttle transmission lends itself to efficient loader operation, so the finance package can also cover a McCormick I-30H hydraulic levelling loader.
"As an alternative, buyers wanting to make a smaller initial payment, finance a bit more of the retail price and pay off the investment more quickly can opt for a 3+33 month scheme," adds Ray Spinks. "It’s zero interest, again, but without the extra warranty and equates to £138 per week. We can also defer the payments schedule for three months on signing to help cash flow and spread the cost over 36 monthly payments for a modest 1.5% interest charge."
