Four Shows Trophy presented to European Champion

European Vintage Ploughing Champion, John Milnes from Penistone in Yorkshire, was presented with the Four Shows Trophy at the 2008 LAMMA Show.

The trophy, contested at Southwell, Collingham and Flintham Ploughing Matches is fast becoming highly prestigious in the world of championship ploughing since its inception in 2006.

The Four Shows Trophy, depicting a brass horse and plough, is so-named due to the three matches and the connection with Newark & Nottinghamshire County Show. The winner receives complimentary passes to both days of the county show, held this year on 10 and 11 May.

John Brydon, President of the Newark & Nottinghamshire Agricultural Society in 2006 and who has kindly donated the magnificent trophy and winner's prize money, made the presentation. Also present to receive certificates and prize money were runner-up Michael Watkins and third-placed Nick Morley.

The Newark and Nottinghamshire County Show will be held on 10 and 11 May 2008.
