LE PONT MAGAZINE PARIS.
According to a report published in Le Pont magazine in Paris, only half of the 333 Licensed abattoirs in France, comply with the standards set down by the European Union.
This is not news to the owners and operators of the meat plants in England and Ireland, who have complained about the double standards of France for the last 40 years.
The Director General of Food (DGAL) denies these claims and states that 59 French abattoirs have been closed down in the last 5 years, for not conforming to the required standards.
The magazine also claimed that since they published the story, the European Agency for Animal Health, is seeing that the problems in France are rectified.
