Future cattle breeders get top beef tips
To some of us they may look like tomorrow's dinner but for Charolais handler in training Margaret Young-Serone cattle are a cuddly companion.
At 15 Margaret was one of more than 70 young men and women who spent the weekend of their school holidays at the Charolais Association of Australia's youth camp held at the Warwick Showgrounds.
Margaret said although her friends called her a "weirdo" for having a passion for cattle it would not hold her back.
"They are so friendly, they are like puppy dogs," she said.
From Thursday until yesterday the camp taught kids how to handle and judge their own Charolais cattle.
