Group backs efforts to eradicate horse flu
Since Equine Influenza first jumped onto the scene in NSW back in August, farmers and the wider industry have had to battle with a complete lockdown on horse movements and the current zoning system with its various restrictions, as the government attempts to contain the virus.
While these management strategies have been disruptive, they are the best means to eradicate this virus before it is allowed to become endemic.
At this week's Executive Council, the NSW Farmers' Association voted overwhelmingly to support the NSW Department of Primary Industry's (DPI's) efforts to eradicate the disease.
