How insurers want to revamp agriculture
It is obvious that in the history of Nigeria, agriculture formed the spine of the nation’s economy because of its huge contribution to the country’s gross domestic product and the overall growth of the economy.
But today, the reverse has become the case since the country experienced oil boom, which, according to experts, caused several economic problems including a serious decline in its agricultural sector and a staggering external debt profile. Despite the fact that Nigeria is blessed with agricultural resources, the sector soon lost the focus it had from the government and silently went into decline.
For many years now, the issue of agricultural reform has been a major concern in the country. However, the economic risk bearing sector of the nation’s economy has begun to tell the farmers that better days lie ahead for the Nigerian agricultural because it has taken delight to partner them to revamp the sector.
