Hursley Auction a Great Success

Auctioneers Bays Curry McCowen (BCM) report that there was strong trade in the good quality machinery they were offering at the farm dispersal sale held at the Hursley Estate on 30th October.

The auction came about as a result of the sale, and with over 500 lots on offer, the auctioneers kept up a brisk pace to ensure that they were finished before dark! With buyers coming from all over the UK as well as Eastern Europe and Ireland a good mart environment was assured.

The equipment and machinery came from a wide range of business including sheep, cattle, forage and arable enterprises as well as general farm machinery. Such a large collection of lots meant that there was something for everyone. The main items sold were as follows:

Alastair Wilson from BCM, the auctioneers commented: "This was the largest dispersal auction in Southern England certainly within the last decade and probably longer. Trade was incredibly strong for the quality items that were on offer. With fewer and fewer auctions in Southern England, they are well attended and we expect a lot of interest in our next sale that will be coming up in February."
