IGENITY appoints new Business Development Manager
IGENITY, the DNA profiling system from Merial Animal Health, has appointed Nick Munce as its new UK Business Development Manager.
Nick will have responsibility for the sales and marketing of the IGENITY portfolio of genetic profiling products aimed at the beef and dairy industries.
The innovative product, which uses DNA primarily extracted from hair samples, has been developed to give producers confidence when making crucial selection, management and marketing decisions.
Nick explains, "IGENITY allows farmers to understand and manage their animals by gaining in-depth information about their genetic profiles, including the multiple traits of economic importance that can be transmitted."
Over the coming months, Nick will be busy meeting distributors, retailers and milk and meat processors to highlight the benefits of adopting IGENITY to achieve further profitability. "We are seeking to build relationships with our target customers and letting them explore the important areas that IGENITY can identify, such as tenderness, marbling and 'ribeye area' for beef producers, and dairy form, milk production traits and cheese production for dairy producers."
Nick brings to the role widespread experience of the animal health sector.
Prior to starting in his new position, he worked for Merial Animal Health as a Senior Territory Manager - Production Animal and before that as a Territory Manager for Agrihealth, both in Northern Ireland. During his career he has gained in-depth knowledge of areas such as business development, technical training and key account management.
Now Nick is looking forward to rolling out an innovative product across the UK.
"I am relishing the opportunity of bringing IGENITY, a thoroughly innovative application, to the wider market. The information it delivers will allow producers to make decisions about breeding, managing and marketing much earlier than before - and throughout an animal's lifetime."
Nigel Otter, Head of IGENITY for Europe, welcomed the arrival of Nick to his new post saying, "Nick has demonstrated considerable talent for key account management and we very much look forward to him joining the team."
