TWO MEAT PLANTS CLOSED.
In the city of Chandigarh India, two meat plants MK Overseas Meat and Abbott Cold Store, were closed down on again last week, because of effluent running down the streets from the slaughterhouse.
The action was taken by the Punjab Pollution Control Authority, after villagers complained that no action had been taken for years in relation to the slaughterhouses..
The matter was heard at the local court, and the Bench ordered that the problem be resolved before the plants could be re-opened.
