Leading UK organic farm Lower Pertwood Farm, Wiltshire, has been bought and is now being managed by Worldview Investment Ltd, a diversified agricultural investment company with large international land holdings.
Lower Pertwood Farm has been a pioneer in organic farming for over 20 years and has impeccable organic credentials. Commenting on the purchase, Charles Brett, a director of Worldview Investments Ltd, states, "As a company we have a very strong heritage and commitment to ecological farming. Our plan is to transfer the skills we learn from Pertwood to our international operations, so that British standard organic programmes can be established in other parts of the world."
As a large organic farm, Pertwood has had retail success by producing cereals required to supply its own breakfast cereal business under the Pertwood Organic Farm brand. Pertwood Organic Farm cereals have developed a strong following in the consumer sector, retailing through most of the leading high street multiples.
"We are excited about the future potential of Lower Pertwood Farm and a complete review of the company's overall product strategy has already commenced. We intend for both the Pertwood brand and its substantial organic ethos to become much better known to a wider audience in the foreseeable future," adds Brett.
