Tree climbing and arboriculture rescue demonstrations is a new feature at the Kenilworth Show
A Warwickshire agricultural show will be scaling ânew heightsâ this weekend after announcing a partnership with the areaâs largest college.
Tree climbing and arboriculture rescue demonstrations are among the latest addition to the bustling line up of entertainment on offer at the Kenilworth Show on Saturday, June 7.
Warwickshire College will be leading tree climbing demos throughout the day at the event on the showgrounds opposite Stoneleigh Park after linking up with show organisers Kenilworth and District Agricultural Society (KADAS).
Diane Whitehouse, Vice Principal at Warwickshire College said, âWeâre delighted to be offering tree-climbing and arboriculture demonstrations at the Kenilworth Show this year, showcasing the skills and talents of our students and staff.
âI hope the visitors will enjoy the demonstrations, as well as visiting our main stand which shows everything the college has to offer, including equine, animal welfare, agriculture and countryside courses.â
Other key attractions on the day will include performances from medieval stuntmen the Knights of Middle England who bring the historic sport of jousting to life in the 21st Century.
The event will also host a vintage display of classic cars, the chance to see real birds of prey up close, cattle, sheep and equestrian classes, while the countryside area also includes the chance to try air rifle shooting, clay shooting, gun dog scurrying and demonstrations with working dogs
There will also be plenty of childrenâs amusements and displays for the whole family to enjoy, alongside a host of trade stands and food and drink outlets.
Show committee chairman Gordon Gatward is expecting Coventry and Warwickshireâs biggest one day agricultural event to be as popular as ever.
He said: âWeâre delighted Warwickshire College are joining us and expect the arboriculture demonstrations to stimulate a lot of interest in the countryside area.
âOver the years the Kenilworth Show has generated a strong following, and weâre really excited by this yearâs batch of entertainment.
âWeâve put a great amount of work into this yearâs event, and weâre thrilled that it is nearly upon us.
âThere is so much going on for all the family, from childrenâs amusements through to bird of prey displays, live music, equestrian competitions and the opportunity to learn more about agriculture in a fun learning environment.
âWeâre looking forward to welcoming back some familiar faces as well as people who have never been before, it promises to be another fantastic day.â
Tickets cost ÂŁ10 for adults on the gate or ÂŁ8 if bought in advance, while children under the age of 16 can enter for free.

A free bus service will being running to the show from Kenilworth Clock Tower, departing for Stoneleigh Park on the hour every hour between 9am and 5pm, and returning from Stoneleigh Park on the hour from 9.30am to 5.30pm.
