KW acquires Agri Blends

KW has acquired the specialist south west blends business - Agri Blends.

As a result of the deal, the Agri Blends business, located at Grimsdyke Granaries in Coombe Bissett, Near Salisbury, will be known as KW Agri Blends.

This acquisition, along with the recent opening of the Gate Head blends site in Scotland, further expands the blending capacity of KW to nine UK sites. It also significantly increases the company's capacity to supply products into the blended feeds market.

During its 11-year history, Agri Blends has built up a substantial business throughout the south of England. The acquisition provides the Agri Blends business with the financial backing to ensure continued investment in blending at the Salisbury site. Additional raw material purchasing skills and nutritional advice from the existing KW Trident team in the south west will further enhance the service options and range of high quality ruminant feeds to Agri Blend's customer base.

Staff at the Coombe Bissett offices will continue to be headed up by General Manager John Reading, who states that he and his team are delighted to become part of the successful KW business.

"The combined strengths of our two businesses will greatly enhance the products and services available to all our customers, and we all look forward to the opportunities this acquisition brings," says John.

KW's southern commercial director, Mike Hutchinson, commented: "We are delighted to welcome the Agri Blends business into KW and look forward to working with John and his team to further expand our product and service offering to farmers in the south."
