Local farmers are invited to the next Mid-Gwynedd NFU Cymru county meeting on Thursday, 13 August 2015, at the Caernarfon NFU Cymru Office, to discuss the current market prices of lamb.

Starting at 7.30pm, Laura Pickup, Marketing Development Manager from Hybu Cig Cymru (HCC) will be present at the meeting to discuss the work of the organisation. John Davies, Deputy President of NFU Cymru, will also be present to give the Union’s perspective on the current situation and the Union’s actions to date – including an update from the UK NFU’s Summit.

Livestock farmer and Vice-County Chairman for NFU Cymru in Mid-Gwynedd, Richard Parry, will chair the meeting. He said, “The situation many of our lamb producer members are experiencing has become a crisis. The purpose of this meeting is to look at current market prices, the market outlook, marketing and promotion of lamb and the processor-retailer relations.

“We are most fortunate to have both Laura Pickup and John Davies present at this meeting to discuss the work of HCC and NFU Cymru. I encourage members with any issues relating to the lamb sector in Wales to attend this meeting. It is open to all members from across North Wales and I hope we get a good turnout.”
