A New South Wales Nationals MP wants the State Government to consider linking regional road funding to farm productivity.
Kevin Humphries' call follows a series of fatal road accidents in his north-west NSW electorate of Barwon.
Mr Humphries says increased farming activity and the use of heavy trucks are having a major impact on the region's road networks.
He says the Government needs to re-calculate how road funding is allocated.
"Communities like Moree and surrounds - and to an extent, Narrabri as well - produce hundreds of millions of dollars worth of produce annually," he said.
