Commenting on the opening of the "green" Tesco in Wick, Eleanor Scott, Green Highlands & Islands MSP, said, "Tesco's efforts to "green" their Wick store are a step in the right direction but this project is a tiny drop in a vast ocean. The supermarket's aggressive tactics put local shops under immense pressure and the company's entire operation trashes the planet on a daily basis - all in order to line the pockets of fat cat shareholders. Tesco has a long way to go before it can claim any form of ethical or green credentials."
