NA for subsidy in agriculture inputs

Parliamentarians on Tuesday urged the government to take steps to promote agricultural research and provide agriculture inputs to the farmers at subsidized rates.

Speaking before the Lower House of the Parliament, Fauzia Wahab, MNA, said agriculture production had been decreasing by the day as farmers are not being given due attention by the government.

She said usually the farmers are short of money to hold their crop for long that is why he has to sell the crop at earliest so that he may spend the money for the next crop.

Fauzia Wahab told the House that housing societies and factories are being set up on fertile lands, demanding that government should formulate zoning regulation to save the fertile land from the real estate mafia.
