Nabard to launch community farming project in State
Community farming is in the offing and a pilot project is likely to be launched in the State.
Officials at district level were directed to hold discussions with farmers and once the farmers form into a group and come forward to spare about 1,000 acres the project would be launched.
The aim of the project is to make less number of farmers dependent on agriculture and provide them with alternative employment by imparting training in different sections including food processing.
The project would be taken by the National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (NABARD), according to Chief General Manager SR Aluru.
