New additive applicator range at ScotGrass

The Profitable Farming Company will be launching a new range of silage acid and inoculant additive applicators suitable for both self-propelled at trailed forage harvesters at this year's ScotGrass event.

Self-propelled forage harvesters

Two application systems are available for self-propelled forage harvesters. The Harvest Tec Model 675 applicator is suitable for John Deere 6000 and 7000 series, Claas Jaguar and New Holland FX machines.

Both applicators are based around a 12 volt, 6.5 litres/minute variable displacement pump with a plastic diaphragm, which is also used by Claas for the inbuilt application system fitted to the latest Jaguar forager.

The Model 675 applicator includes a 400 litre tank that is mounted on the right hand side front fender and incorporates a 100psi gauge with built-in isolator, in-cab electronic controls and four stainless steel nozzles.

Trailed forage harvesters

The Harvest Tec Model 655 is suitable for use with all makes of trailed forage harvester. It consists of a 220 litre tank that is easily fitted to the drawbar of the forager which feeds a nozzle mounted on the side of the blower housing for even coverage.

The system is controlled using a cab mounted switch and application rate is altered by changing nozzles. The applicator also includes filters, quick disconnects and check valves.

Prices for the Harvest Tec range of additive applicators start at £525 for the Model 655 and £803 for the Model 675.

Free Moisture Meter

The Profitable Farming Company will also be holding a free draw to win a Harvest Tec Model 476 Moisture Meter system, valued at £796.

Suitable for use with all makes of self-propelled forage harvester, the unit provides an accurate moisture reading of material flowing through the forager.

This has the benefit that additive use can be better regulated, so saving cost and achieving better results, plus chop length can be altered for optimum clamp consolidation.
