New chairman appointed for Kensa

The founder of Truro based Kensa Engineering, Richard Freeborn has stepped down from his role as Chairman to take up a new post at the Department of Energy and Climate Change. In this new role, Richard will use his 14 years’ experience in the renewable heat industry to provide technical and commercial input into future policy decisions.

In his place, Kensa, the UK’s only manufacturer of a full range of ground source heat pumps, has appointed Henry Casley, formerly CEO of Southern Electric Plc.

Commenting on the change, Kensa’s Managing Director, Simon Lomax said "Kensa’s prospects will be enhanced by Henry’s considerable corporate experience and reflects the company’s ambition to become the UK’s largest supplier of ground source heat pumps. Further jobs are being created to support other new initiatives featuring significant corporate partners, including Scottish and Southern Energy Plc.’
