Mike Ewins has been appointed as the new NFU Cymru Group Secretary at the Knighton office which will be moving to new premises later this month.
Born and bred in Hereford, Mike still lives there with his wife Karen and three sons. His background is mainly banking and financial services, having spent 20 years with the Halifax. More recently, he has worked as a self employed advisor dealing mainly with mortgages and protection. Although not from a farming background, Mike has fond memories of helping his late uncle with the milking on his dairy farm when he was growing up.
Speaking on his appointment, Mike said, "I am delighted to be appointed as the Group Secretary here in Knighton and I am looking forward to building up relationships with all our current customers as well as meeting new ones at every opportunity.
"Obviously my first priority is to get the new office up and running but as soon as that’s open I will be getting out and about and meeting as many of our farming members as I can. Farming is crucial to this area and I look forward to helping and assisting NFU Cymru members with the diverse issues they face."

The Knighton office is set to move from 15 December to new premises. The new office is only a stone’s through away from the old office but it is much more spacious and customer-friendly. The new office is situated at 3 High Street, Knighton. Customers, new and old, are invited to pop in to have a look around the new offices.
