A new tractor mounted HERRIAU precision drill range has been announced by UK and Ireland importers STANDEN-REFLEX. The new EVOLUTION P-24 model as the name suggests, is an evolutionary development of the TURBOSEM-24 with many features incorporated in response to UK grower requirements.
Seed rates are now adjustable on-the-move; a new 'VARRIAU' system transmits drive from the drill's land wheels via an electronic system to provide the driver with control of seed rates in the cab' from zero to 440 seeds per square metre. An all new tubular frame provides greater strength, closer coupling to the tractor, and hopper capacity is now 1200 litres with better access for big bag filling.
In the quest for increased efficiency, air feeds to the metering and venturi distribution systems are now directly coupled, instead of 'piped' through chassis sections as previously. Fan drives have also been revised for greater simplicity, reliability and ease of maintenance.
Hydraulic markers for EVOLUTION P-24 are completely new; a more robust design with vertical folding, the markers are re-positioned away from the seed hopper. Coulter arm mounting brackets are now stronger, providing improved lateral location. Individual seed selection, singulation and distribution with accurate press wheel placement ensures even plant emergence.
The HERRIAU EVOLUTION P-24 mounted model is available for 2008 delivery in 3.0 metre and 4.0 metre widths. HERRIAU precision drills are available from 8-row models with heavy-duty models for maize. Special 12-row models for sugar beet, borage, sunflowers. And trailed, hydraulic folding 4.0 metre and 6.0 metre models for peas, wheat, rape etc; all of which have been revised for 2008, with better equipment levels and competitive pricing.
Popularly used by vining pea growers, the HERRIAU precision drill can sow a wide range of seed in many configurations, with options to suit most growing systems.
