A new design of mounted sprayer will be among an extensive display of Knight sprayers at Cereals 2013 along with a Raven cultivator re-designed to improve sub-soiling performance. A major expansion of Knight’s cultivator range will be announced at the show.

The new mounted sprayers are available with 1200, 1500 and 1900 litre roto-moulded polyethylene tanks and booms from 12 to 30 metres wide. Booms can fold horizontally in the conventional way or vertically to give unrestricted access to the tractor cab. Boom design combines strength, rigidity and protection for spray-lines and nozzles.

The sprayer is carried close to the rear of the tractor and is easily mounted and demounted. It has substantial parking legs and leans backwards when parked, creating space for the operator when connecting the PTO, pipes and cables. The standard specification includes full remote control of boom functions, chemical induction hopper, internal washing system for the main tank.

A choice of plumbing and control systems can be fitted, including Knight’s MAXImiser plumbing system and Müller control systems in various specifications. Front tanks from 1000 to 1500 litres are available to increase output and also improve balance.

The linkage-mounted Raven cultivator has proved itself as a multi-purpose machine capable of performing in a wide variety of conditions behind medium-sized tractors. The latest version has a lower intermediate tool-beam than earlier models, which allows it to work at sub-soiling depths as well as shallower depths for min-till and secondary cultivations.

The new Raven can be fitted with three or five sub-soil tines as the first row of implements, followed by intermediate tines, two rows of rubber-cushioned discs and a large-diameter packer roll to finish. The position of discs and packer can be adjusted from the tractor seat, including lifting the discs clear of the ground for sub-soiling.
