Silver Fern Farms shareholders, voted in Favour of the proposed merger with rural giant PGG Wrightson at a recent shareholders meeting.
Under the new partnership, Wrightson will inject NZ$220 million, into the company and take up an important part of the companies management and marketing.
Silvers Ferns chairman Eoin Garden, says he is delighted with the decision.
The next decision the company has to make, is the proposed amalgamation with the Alliance meat group, that would give the two companies 65-75 of the total lamb exports from New Zealand.
