News Update: Arsonists hunted after second fire at cattle market
SUSPECTED arsonists are being hunted after a second fire at Rugby's cattle market in a matter of hours.
As reported first here at rugbytoday.co.uk, firefighters spent an hour controlling a blaze which destroyed a building at the Craven Road site yesterday afternoon (Sunday).
Flames and smoke could be seen in surrounding streets and dozens of onlookers watched as the fire broke out in a disused building at the market about 1.55pm.
Fourteen firefighters from Rugby and Brinklow attended and extinguished the fire.
Fortunately, no people or animals were hurt.
However, firefighters were later called out to a second blaze at at about 5.30pm later in the day.
A storage room at the market had been set alight.
