NFU in charitable gift to Wales YFC

Wales’ largest rural youth movement, Wales Young Farmers Club, is set to benefit financially following a £500 contribution from NFU Cymru towards a recruitment drive competition.

At the Royal Welsh Agricultural Show, representatives from all 12 County Federations in Wales will battle it out on stage to become Club Promotion Challenge champions and take home the NFU Cymru Perpetual Trophy.

Stephen James, NFU Cymru Deputy President said, "NFU Cymru is proud to offer its support to the Federation of Young Farmers Clubs in Wales. At NFU Cymru we are totally committed to safeguarding the future of the farming industry here in Wales and to do so it is vital that we invest in the next generation of farmers."

YFC members participating in the Club Promotion Challenge will have to impress a panel of judges using various mediums of promotional activity aimed at membership recruitment and retention.

Lisa Jones, Wales YFC Senior Development Officer and Competitions Programme Organiser, said, "Once again this year on behalf of our members, I would like to thank NFU Cymru for their generous donation. Without NFU Cymru and other sponsors we would have great difficulty in maintaining our competitions programme that we have on offer to young people in rural Wales."
